So what’s exactly the show is and what is the concept behind it , Well The Dewarists 5.0 is the fifth edition of The Dewarists, which is nothing but a musical documentary and a travelogue, covering the journey of two artistes from completely different musical backgrounds, who generally travels together to one destination in India and spend time dabbling with each other’s music style.
Coming to the concept of the show which is quite similar to the philosphy of famous blended scotch whiskey Dewar’s of Live True, a message of inspiration and a label for the lives of those who have turned their passion into their driving force.
IT was all started in late 2010 as stage performances and collaborations of artists who stood and reflected the philosophy of Dewarism. And finally it was culminated into the TV series featuring on Star World.
With the likes of famous artists – Vishal Shekhar, Imogen Heap, Zeb & Haniya, Shantanu Moitra, Swanand Kirkire, Indian Ocean, Mohit Chauhan, Parikrama, Agnee and many more, this show is definetly a worth watch.
Throwback in late 2010 the first episode was shot in Rajasthan featuring Vishal and Imogen Heap and it was all about sounds.What was interesting to see was Imogen’s experiment with anything that produces any sound and a way of discovering music.
The content is absolutely original in every sense. original content which is dying these days on Indian Television with some original songs being produced in the short journey of collaboration between these artists.
The entire show is informative as well as entertaining as it serves with the prime purpose of a travel in each episode being shot in a different cities and locations representing the flavour of the city showing various moods, people, places of that city.
This show certainly stands higher above MTV Coke Studios India and MTV Unplugged India as it covers soulful jouney of artist with new places and people in each episode along with some fresh music to ears.
This season show has collaborations of various artistes like Benny Dayal, Clinto Cerejo, Dub Sharma, Bianca Gomes, Deepak Ramola, Ankur Tewari, Prateek Kuhad, Dhruv Ghanekar, Mame Khan, Nucleya, Papon and Amit Trivedi.
